A firm foundation. Author unknown. While at the beach one summer, our four little boys built a huge sand castle. They worked on it for hours. The next morning they rushed back to the site to do additional work on their masterpiece. How disappointed they were to discover that the castle had been washed away by the tides. Jesus declared that just as a house built on sand , much like a sand castle, could not stand during a storm. The person who failed to heed and to follow His teachings would not be able to stand during the storms of life. On the other hand, just as a house built on a solid foundation could resist the storm, the person who obeyed His teaching could withstand life’s challenges. If we want our children and grandchildren to have a firm foundation for life that can stand up against destructive tides and the storms that will come upon them, we must teach them about Jesus. Moreover, we should set an example by reflecting His love and by living out His truth in our own lives. Dear Father, help all parents and grandparents to teach and model this simple lesson of Jesus , for it will make a difference for eternity. Matthew 7:24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: Matthew 7:25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. Our Rock is Jesus Christ! Transcendent: (GOD) existing apart from and not subject to the limitations of the material universe.  | |
