race /rās/ each of the major divisions of humankind, having distinct physical characteristics. (There are numerous distinguishing characteristics displayed by all humans anywhere you go on this planet). rac·ist /ˈrāsəst/ a person who shows or feels discrimination or prejudice against people of other races, or who believes that a particular race is superior to another. (This is saying it takes belief, thought and some form of action). rac·ism /ˈrāˌsizəm/ prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one's own race is superior. (There are many examples of this through out human history. Where does this type of belief originate? See the following verses. Notice also that these verses don’t mention anything about a specific race of humans; it only says “out of the heart of men”. That includes all of mankind my friend). Mark 7:21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, Mark 7:22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: ster·e·o·type /ˈsterēəˌtīp/ a widely held but fixed and oversimplified image or idea of a particular type of person or thing. (When one calls another group of humans racist, this is what they are doing; stereotyping that group. This is a mistake for sure; sadly far too many make it). Reading and comprehension skills vary greatly among all humans. In my mind that fact is evident by those that choose to use the above words too often and incorrectly. Example: I have seen this word used recently when a white person disagrees with a person of different color. Just because people disagree doesn’t mean they are racist. People disagree regardless of color/race; we all have different values, backgrounds, standards, opinions, etc. By the way, God made everything and God doesn’t make mistakes! Genesis 1:31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day. (We humans are part of everything He has made; He said it was “very good”. If God thought that what He created was very good, why do so many humans think otherwise about fellow humans)? (Might be something to think about). | |
