Matthew 9:12 But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick. Matthew 9:13 But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. [See Hosea 6:6; Mark 2:17; Luke 5:32 and 1 Timothy 1:15. mercy = love; He wants our love, not a burnt sacrifice]. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life [What does the word whosoever mean? This verse is conditional, as are many others. One must truly believe to gain everlasting life. What happens to non-believers? See Revelation 21:8 for your answer]. John 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. [He makes the offer to all. All of mankind (might) be saved, if Jesus' offer is accepted. Will all accept His offer]? Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; [Does this verse exclude anyone? Has anyone been left out? What does the word “all” mean]? 1 Timothy 2:4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. [Where do you find that truth? See John 14:26 and 17:17]. 1 Timothy 4:16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee. [We are to continue in and share the doctrine of Christ. By doing so, we save ourselves and others that hear us. See Colossians 3:16 also]. 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. [The word “all” is very important. See Acts 17:30 also]. “All” have sinned. Jesus came to save sinners. God wants “all” to come to repentance; to come to full knowledge and be saved. It is apparent, the goal is to save “all”! Do any of these verses exclude any particular sinner, for example, homosexuals, adulterers or liars? The answer would be [no]! No one is any better than anyone else; we are all in the same boat. Maybe, try to look at homosexuals, yourself or other sinners through God's eyes. Again, God wants all to repent. Try to show some tough love and compassion. Study the whole Bible, gain a better understanding of God's truths. Then you can share those truths with others and not drive them away from God by being judgmental, holier than thou and hypocritical. Remember, we all sin. ![]() | |
