Respiratory Virus hMPV Expected in the US
According to the latest reports, the nation has to face a new virus. The virus, officially called Human metapneumovirus (hMPV) is likely to spread in the spring. The virus can be disastrous for people of all ages. More than anything, the medical world has to worry about the fact that there is no vaccine these days. However, older adults, young children, and people with weak immunity are more vulnerable. It is not a new entrant to the medical world. Discovered way back in 2001 by scientists in the Netherlands, hMPV can cause respiratory infections. Common cold-like symptoms caused by hMPV often last 2 to 5 days and fade away slowly. ![]()
