Forgiveness! | |
Forgive one another, including yourself, and be forgiven. [“if” is a big word, it is conditional, it places a condition on each of us! We must meet that condition. Matthew 6:14-15; Mark 11:25-26; Luke 6:37; Ephesians 4:32; Colossians 3:13; (Matthew 18:21-22 tells us our forgiveness should be limitless). We are all sinners, no one is any better than anyone else. What is the result of sin? Thus, we need Him and His offer of forgiveness! Your choice! Ecclesiastes 7:20; Isaiah 59:2; Romans 3:23; 1 John 1:8-10 (Saying you haven't sinned is calling God a liar. Do you want to be in that boat)? Jesus is the only way to our heavenly Father! John 10:1, 9, 14:6, 16:23-24; Romans 6:23; Ephesians 5:20; 1 Thessalonians 5:18; Hebrews 7:24-28, 13:15; Will you be judged for some other persons sin? No way. You reap what you sow!!! Jeremiah 31:29-30; Ezekiel 18:10-17; Galatians 6:7; Being forgiven is one of the first steps in our journeys as Christians. Then, move forward in that journey by gaining more of His knowledge, wisdom, standards and truth with as much understanding as possible. You accomplish that by studying the entire Bible for yourself; let God speak to you through His word. Obey Him. Be patient. There is no hope for anyone who does not turn from these worldly lures and plead with Christ for help, in other words, humble themselves and truly repent. Psalm 145:18. Please try the explanation on these websites. They are lengthy, but worth the time to read. http://www.preparingforeternity.com/oncesave.htm http://www.whatsaiththescripture.com/Fellowship/He.That.Endureth.to.the.En.html http://www.choctawnation.com/news-room/chaplains-corner/preparing-for-eternity/ When we hold on to bitterness and anger we are sinning. When we repent of that and make the hard choice to forgive, we are actually freeing ourselves. Make up your own mind. Study His Word as though your life depended on it, and obey the plain teachings of Christ's doctrines only. Food for thought: When asked the difference between Christianity and all other religions, a prominent preacher answered by saying, “You spell all other religions DO. You spell Christianity DONE.” All religions except Christianity require the believer to meet the requirements of righteousness through religious acts and habits—you must do certain things to earn your way into heaven. In Christianity, God has DONE all that is required for us to be righteous and to have eternal life through His Son, Jesus, the Christ, a gift, if we accept it and truly repent. More food for thought: Some find it hard to forgive themselves. Why? God can and does forgive you. Are your standards higher than His? I don’t think so. | |
