Bad things happen to good people!

Bad things happen to good people sometimes!

Luke 13:1 There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.

[About this time, Jesus was informed that Pilate had killed some people from Galilee as they were offering sacrifices at the temple. Why? These Galileans were very likely some of the followers of Judas Gaulonitis, or Judas of Galilee; who endeavored to draw off the Jews from the Roman government, and affirmed it was not lawful to give tribute to Caesar; at which Pilate being enraged, sent a band of soldiers, and slew his followers; who were come up to the feast of the passover, as they were offering their sacrifices in the temple, and so mixed their blood with the blood of the Passover lambs]. (Acts 5:37).

Luke 13:2 And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things?
[Do you think those Galileans were worse sinners than all the other people just because they were killed]?
Luke 13:3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
[Not at all! You soul will perish also, unless you repent of your sins and turn to God].
Luke 13:4 Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?
[What about the eighteen people who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them. Were they worse sinners? Not at all, they were just in the wrong place at the wrong time].
Bad things happen to good people, including Christians, sometimes. As far as sin is concerned, everyone is in the same boat; read Romans 3:23. More people need to know this. Also, you might not know this, there are those that claim to be Christian in speaking, but are not Christian in action.
Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Matthew 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

[Not everyone who professes to be a Christian will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. You must be doing the will of God, not the will of man. Remember the old adage: Actions speak louder than words].
