2026 FIFA World Cup: Date and location What is the structure?
The following major event will be the FIFA World Cup in 2026. The format change will also be visible for the first time. 48 teams will compete in the World Cup, an increase of 16 from the previous seven competitions. Each team will be divided into groups of four teams and 12 teams. The top two teams from each group as well as the eight best third-place teams advance to the subsequent round of 32 teams. Even the total amount of games available has grown from 16 to 104! It is anticipated that the battle will last for about 40 days. Here, a noticeable improvement between the 2014 and 2018 editions can be observed.
