Biblical illiteracy? | |
* Fewer than half of all adults can name the four gospels. (My point exactly)! * Many professing Christians cannot identify more than two or three of the disciples. (I wonder why)? * 60 percent of Americans cannot name even five of the Ten Commandments. (You can't follow what you don't know). * 82 percent of Americans believe “God helps those who help themselves” is a Bible verse. (Help yourself by studying the Bible my friend). * 12 percent of adults believe that Joan of Arc was Noah’s wife. (How did this happen)? * A survey of graduating high school seniors revealed that over 50 percent thought that Sodom and Gomorrah were husband and wife. (Education is one of the four hidden dynasties of Satan. This is proof he is effective). * A considerable number of respondents to one poll indicated that Billy Graham preached the Sermon on the Mount. (Sad, but funny). * Six out of ten Americans reject the existence of Satan. (You can meet him personally real soon). * Four out of ten Americans believe that when Jesus Christ was on earth He committed sins. (You can't get much more wrong than this)! * Five out of ten believe that anyone who is generally good or does enough good things for others during their life will earn a place in Heaven. (Deceived)? * Four out of ten believe that the Bible, the Koran and the Book of Mormon are all different expressions of the same spiritual truths. (Blowing in the wind, not grounded, will believe anything). * Seven out of ten born again Christians said they do not believe in moral absolutes. (Their choice). * Only one out of ten Christians base their moral decision-making on the principles taught in the Bible. (Sad)! * 54 percent believe truth can be discovered only through logic, human reasoning and personal experience. (Evolutionists? They leave out God. His word is truth). If it were not so important of a subject, it would be hilarious. Isn’t it amazing how pitifully illiterate John Q. Christian is of the written Word of God? This land teems with churches and chapels, temples and tabernacles. There are only a handful of fairly well-informed students of the Book of books. Absolutely pathetic. Biblical illiteracy is a personal choice; your choice. [If] you want to do something about it, study the Bible yourself, meditate on it day and night [Joshua 1:8]; don't rely on others to tell you what is in it. Ask yourself, do I want to become knowledgeable of the Bible? That would be a good choice friend. Well what is biblical literacy you say? It is knowing what the most important events are, and how they will affect you [end times, the 6th and 7th trumps, etc.]. Knowing the important characters [ kenites, antichrist, etc.] and themes that are found in the Bible and knowing how it fits together into a cohesive whole (whole picture, not just fragments). Learning a little bit about God's plan and how you fit in it. Something else, when you read the Bible, God speaks to you through His word. When you pray, you speak to God. Both are important, but, which would you think is more important? You speaking to Him or Him speaking to you? If you don't know the answer to that, you are on thin ice my friend. Do you know for sure if your Pastor is telling you what you need to know? Are the blind leading the blind in your case? To stay out of the ditch my friend, (see Matthew 15:14 and Luke 6:39). What is the cure for biblical illiteracy? Study of His word on your own, I can't emphasize that enough; see 2 Timothy 2:15 in a KJV Bible (you’ll read we are commanded to study His word). Don’t set yourself up to be so easily deceived; study Gods word. ![]() | |
